MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Did I mention we're moving to a new hotel?
The LAX Marriott, which has hosted previous LOSCONS and even Westercons is our home again, and we're all excited about it! Our full committee recently had a walk through of the hotel, and everyone is energized about the property.
And the hotel staff is * really * looking forward to having us there. I've been working on Cons for over 30 years, and I've never seen a hotel this glad to see us coming (I have seen a few glad to see us go, but hey, they were fuggheads)!
However, Loscon is certainly more than just a hotel, and this year is going to be * lot * more. Our guest of honor, Tim Powers, Wendy Pini, Kathryn and James Stanley Daughtery, along with LASFS Special Guest David Gerrold are all working with us to provide some of the best programming we've seen.
We're going to have a larger dealer's room, a larger art show and some neat speciality programming.
With all this, I hope to start a growth of attendance to Loscon. We're doing some outreach this time out that we haven't tried before, and we're hoping to spread the One True Word.
But if this is to succeed, we need your help too. We're working to make this Loscon Neo Friendly. Fandom is fun, but it sometimes a steep learning curve in the begnning. We'd like to change that. If you're willing to help us in this endeavour, drop us some email.
We look forward to seeing you at Loscon this November.
Oh, did I mention we're moving?
WEBSITE NOW UP
The website has now been developed beyond the initial basic page. Feel free to peruse all the pages that have been posted, including the latest membership list. More information will be posted within the next few weeks as it becomes available. I must personally apologize for the delay and any inconvience or uncertainty it may have caused. -- Webmaster
