Jon L. Breen writes  “The Jury Box”  book review column for  Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, has won two Edgar Awards, and is the author of six published mystery novels and nearly a hundred short stories.   His latest book is  Kill the Umpire: The Calls of Ed Gordon  (Crippen & Landru).   Though only a few of his novels and stories are fantasy or science fiction, he has been an SFWA member for many years.   Now retired, he was a librarian and Professor of English at Rio Hondo College.   He and his wife Rita live in Fountain Valley, where they enjoy ‘50s science fiction movies through various home video technologies, not all of them obsolete.
