Walter H. Hunt is the author of four critically praised science fiction novels published by Tor Books, including The Dark Crusade, published in 2005.   His work has been favorably compared with the novels of Frank Herbert, David Weber, Orson Scott Card and J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as being reminiscent of mainstream adventure writers such as C.S. Forester.   A student of history, a baseball fan and active Freemason currently serving as Master of his lodge, he has been a full-time professional writer for four years after a career in high technology as a software engineer and technical writer.   He grew up in and is a current resident of Massachusetts, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
