Kerry T. Nock

Mr. Nock received his M.S. in Space Science and Engineering from UCLA.   He has worked at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) on the design of several planetary missions including Mariner 9 to Mars;  Mariner 10 to Venus and Mercury;  and the Voyager and Galileo missions.   He managed the planetary mission studies leading to the successful Magellan Venus mapping mission and the Cassini orbiter mission to Saturn and Titan.   He supported the 1985 President's Commission on Space by developing Mars transportation concepts.   He instigated small-spacecraft system studies in the mid 80's, supervised JPL's Advanced Projects Group and led a number of advanced space concept and technology studies including robotic planetary balloon and lunar mission concepts and solar electric propulsion and space nuclear reactor power technology studies.   Recently he has managed two NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts (NIAC) study efforts including one focused on transporting humans to Mars on a sustained basis.

In 1997, Mr. Nock founded Global Aerospace Corporation, a research and development corporation, which is made up of a number of former engineers of the NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory.   He is a NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts (NIAC) Fellow and past leader for two NIAC studies.   Mr. Nock is currently President and Chairman of the Board of Global Aerospace Corporation.
