Robert Gounley is an aerospace engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.   He's helped develop and operate deep space missions to Jupiter (Galileo), Mars (Mars Exploration Rover), and the asteroid belt (Deep Space 1, Dawn).   He credits his excitement for space exploration to a lifelong appreciation for science fiction.   He is also an officer in OASIS - the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Space Society.
