Loscon 32 - A Space Operetta

Anne Calpernia Morrel

I grew up reading science fiction and fantasy; it was the "0z" books that got me started.   In spite of that, I earned both B.A and M.A. in philosophy at San Diego State University and later got a Certificate in Theological Studies from Episcopal Theological School, Claremont.   Meanwhile, I was getting a good start on the book collection and developed a serious interest in costuming.   In 1984 I met Bill Ellern at LA CON II;  soon afterwards he introduced me to LASFS.   By that time I had started collections of movie memorabilia and Star Wars/Star Trek stuff  (this has expanded to include LOTR, Harry Potter, etc.)   I am currently the editor of the LASFS recommended reading list for children.   This will be the sixth year that I have been handing out the hall costume awards at Loscon -- and I'm trying to get a new costume done in time for the con.
