LOSCON 34 is back yet again in Los Angeles at one of the best sites for a convention
in Los Angeles,
the LAX Marriott.

it's central to all of Southland fandom.It's only 5 minutes West of the 405 FWY and 8 minutes North of the 105 FWY. Fans will find plenty of parking at the Marriott. For those fans travelling by air, there's a 24 hour complimentary Marriott shuttle from LAX.
The convention space is all on one floor just below the lobby of the Marriott. All of LOSCON 34 is just a moments walk from everything else.
You can easily access your sleeping room directly from the convention floor by one of 6 elevators. The LAX Marriott boasts 2 restaurants: JW's, serving steaks & seafood, Latitude 33, themed as "tastes of the Pacific Rim", and Champions American Sports Bar with a very reasonably priced menu. There's also a Starbucks which will be open for us all weekend.
The sleeping rooms in this hotel are very generously apportioned, the LAX Marriott having been built over 40 years ago when hotels were still built with a customer's comfort in mind. The pool is gigantic and was recently remodeled. There's a large, well equipped gym and a small laundramat in case that rare fannish stain on clothing needs to be removed in a hurry.
We have a great deal from the Marriott with rooms for $96 for single/double/triple/quad occupancy.
There is not a suite rate available, as there are no suites available to general attendees. If, however, you are planning on throwing a party at Loscon, there are a limited number of suites available. Please contact our Party Maven, Selina Phanara, at parties34@loscon.org to discuss your needs. NOTE FROM THE PARTY MAVEN = ALL SUITES ON THE PARTY FLOOR HAVE NOW BEEN FULLY BOOKED (11/01/07).
To make your room resevations you can either call the Marriott at 1-800-228-9290 or go to their website at www.marriott.com and use the Group Code: "LOSLOSA" (ell-oo-ess, ell-oo-ess, aah) to get this low rate. The Hotel Website may say that there are no more rooms available at this rate, but there are (current as of 11/10/07) - just call them instead (you'll definitely get it this way) or e-mail our Hotel Liason.

For Hyperallogenic Fans --There are many of us out there and the only way the LAX Marriott can accommodate all of us is if we give them timely notice. The earlier you can make your reservation, the more likely we will have them ready to accommodate fannish needs. The LAX Marriott has a limited number of resources, which under non-fan conditions, is sufficient for their general needs. We have to help them acknowledge and meet the more allergy prone fannish community’s quirks. :-)
Please let the LAX Marriott know, and make note within your reservation, that you need their down pillows and comforters removed from the room. You need to speak to a live reservations person to assure that this gets entered in the notes field of your reservation (even though we have been informed that they have recently added this as an option on their on-line reservation form).
Since even this precaution is not sufficient to guarantee their properly accommodating your needs, immediately e-mail your reservation confirmation number to hotel34@loscon.org with the names on the reservation and inform us that you have made this request of the hotel.
The deadline for having LOSCON 34 assist in making sure you receive a hypoallergenic room is October 15, 2007. There is no guarantee that everyone will be helped, but our chances of making every fan's LOSCON 34 stay at the LAX Marriott more comfortable increase incredibly if you take these steps.

From Los Angeles Airport - LAX (0 mi NE) Take East Century Blvd. Hotel is on the left. From Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena - Burbank Airport (20 mi NE) Take 101 Freeway West to 405 South. Exit Century Blvd. West. Hotel is on the right. From Long Beach - LGB (20 mi SW) Take 405 North to 105 Freeway West, exit Sepulveda, go right to Century Boulevard, East Ramp, continue 3 blocks, exit to Airport Boulevard, turn left, then right into Hotel.
