What is La-La Con?
It's the Traditional Spring Relaxacon and Ultimate Party held at the LASFS Clubhouse (11513 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood). A Spring time relaxing weekend event geared toward getting together, watching films, lounging around, reading the paper, taking a nap, and possibly attending some panels. It can generally be considered an open house for the club with the addition of a consuite and several planned events. Such events include a Plutonium Chili Cookoff Luncheon and Intergalactic Ice Cream Social (presented by the Time Meddlers of Los Angeles) on Saturday. There is a huge auction offering a wide assortment of interesting *tchackies *chackies *knicknacks (with the proceeds going towards the upkeep of the LASFS and its activities). On Sunday evening, there is then a large banquet. This event originated as a "showcase" of local and in-house talent. La-La Con has continued the tradition by hosting many in-house guests, including the people you see at LosCon every year. More than anything, this event is a thank you for making the clubhouse such a fun place throughout the year.
