Guests of Honor
John DeChancie (Guest of Honor)
We are honored to have John DeChancie join us as Guest of Honor of La-Di-Da-Con. John is another example of an overnight sensation who has been writing for a while. In the past decade alone, John has written more than 20 novels. He is best known for his inter-dimensional fantasy "Castle Perilous," but he has also written more than one SF series set in outer space. John is also known for his sense of humor, which is yet another reason why we are honored to have him with us at this year's event. VISIT HIS WEBSITE!
J. Michael Straczynski (Special Guest)
If you are coming to La-Di-Da-Con and don't know who JMS is ... where have you been? You know him by his work ... creator and executive producer of Babylon 5 and its daughter series Crusade premiering next January. A fan who made it professionally (his words!), a master storyteller and Hollywood producer who's managed to balance the two ... we are honored to welcome JMS back for another visit!
Craig Miller & Genny Dazzo (Fan Guests of Honor)
Craig and Genny are familiar to anyone who has been involved in SF fandom in Los Angeles. Not only are they both long-time LASFS members, but they're part of the board of SCIFI (Craig's been Chairman), the organization responsible for such events as the 1996 Worldcon. Craig's a writer/producer and publicist (yes, he worked on "Star Wars") and Genny's a scientist. We are delighted to have them.
Ray Capella (Artist Guest of Honor)
One of LA fandom's most respected artists, Ray's work has been featured on many publications. You have to see some of his work to understand and appreciate his vision ... a beautiful, timeless quality that harkens back to the days of the SF pulp journals and their dreams of the future. He's brought some of his abstract paintings for his Sunday talk and he's recreated and reinterpreted the Science Fiction League logo from 1934 for this year's convention T-shirts.
